Awesome.

A conversation with a guy at my pre-masters swim class after someone brought up running and he said he had run a marathon.

(Let me preface this with the fact that this person has the IQ of a bag of hair, so my re-telling this story is a bit mean, but it is my blog and I'll bitch if I want to)

Me: I did my first marathon in March.

Bag of Hair boy: What was your time?

Me: I am slow, 5:20

Bag of hair boy: Whoa! ~insert Bevis and Butthead laugh here~ that IS slow.

Me thinks: thanks asshole.

Me says (trying to save face): Yeah, I am slow but I love to run. I am doing a half marathon and 10 k this weekend and am training for San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.

Bag of Hair Boy: My boss does lots of marathons, but he is really skinny.

*Looks of horror from the other swimmers witnessing this*

This takes place on the pool deck and I am standing there in my swim suit, feeling VERY awesome right about then. I think it shows AMAZING personal growth on my part that he still has all of his original teeth and the pool is not missing a kick board.

Me says: How is your swim coming? You know they have a pretty steep cut off at Half Ironman's for the swim portion.

He swims like a stone. I am faster than him for Christ sake. Childish, I know, but I had to get a shot in somewhere. Although, I honestly think he was too dense to know he had said anything offensive to me OR that I was giving him a shot. Whatever, it made me feel better.

A list of Shit I Should Just Never Do

1. Go jean shopping during post-illness depression and one week before my period.

2. Go jean shopping at the fucking mall. The land of Barbie Doll women that apparently got the style gene.

3. Go jean shopping in any store I have EVER heard my teenagers talk about. (e.g. Banana Republic, Nordstrom's, or the Gap)

4. Go jean shopping the day after one of my cherubs called me stupid, other cherubs blamed me for their grades, their lack of understanding the material (i.e. They don't get it because I am a bad teacher.), their inattentiveness (i.e. I am boring, so they don't listen), their bad behavior, global warming, etc...

5. Go jean shopping and look in the angled mirror at my ass in the new jeans (that of course would only apply to the ones I could get over my HUGE ass).

6. Go jean shopping and look in the angled mirror at my ass in the jeans I wore to the store (i.e. the jeans that EVERYONE has seen my ass in.)

7. Go jean shopping and look in the angled mirror at my ass in NO jeans. (i.e. What the fuck was I thinking?!)

I was going to write about this last night, but I am working on being more positive. That isn't working out so well for me.

Note: Picture above is NOT my ass (I know, you are stunned). Thank you Madison Avenue, for making me feel inadequate my entire fucking life because I don't look like this.

Back at it

I finally went back to work on Tuesday, but I still wasn't quite 100% so I did not work out, but yesterday I went for my first run, post-'Flu of Death' and it was positively...

awful.

It was like running through wet cement for 5 miles. It was of those runs you do because you are supposed to, not because it feels good.

Tonight I am going to my first pre-masters swim class. Can you sense the excitement? No? That is because there is no excitement. I don't want to go, but I am sure I will feel better after I do.
It is one of those "conquering your fears" things.

Update: I wrote the first part of this at 5 in the morning, it is now 7:15 pm (interestingly enough the exact time my pre-masters swim class starts) and no, I did not get a waterproof lap top, so I wimped out. I was tired and I just plain didn't go. I don't have a good excuse or reason. I just didn't.

The Pedagogical Roller Coaster that was my day:

DOWN Email from Vice principal that I did not include enough comments on my grade reports for students that have D's or F's in my classes. Apparently, we are too assume that parents do not understand that not completing homework and failing test scores, are how students get poor grades in their classes until we enter the code for "Homework not completed" and "Low test scores" on the report card, that the student probably stole out of the mailbox anyway. This email was cc'd to my principal.

I am on the "bad girl" list again. (or still I should say)

UP Have one of the best lectures and discussions on Genetics of my whole career. My 5th period was engaged, laughing, learning. It rocked.

Ultimate teachers high.

and back DOWN Sixth period. If you had ever actually been to my sixth period I wouldn't have to write another word. I can't joke, I can't use silly examples. Basically, I can't have ANY fun as a teacher, at all . I have to be the policeman the entire period. I pick up my chair and bull whip when the first bell rings and I can't put it down until the last bell rings.

This glorious day with sixth period culminated with a less than pleasant interaction with student that I spend at least 75% of the class period admonishing for inappropriate outbursts, touching/harassing other students, not working on the project he is supposed to, and just generally being an asshole. He was shouting out something obnoxious about his sperm (not as bad as it sounds. I teach biology, but still!) and I told him to stop AGAIN. He starts to argue how, of course it was someone else's fault that he is an asshole and I tell him I do not care why he is talking I just want him to stop. His response, "you're stupid!"

Awesome.

At this point the child is safer the farther away from me he is. So in the interest of his safety, which of course, is my primary concern, I send him to the dean of students.

Soooo, glad I get to do this again tomorrow.

Who da thunk it?

Who would have thought that stepping on the scale and seeing a gain would be the good part of my day?

Truly, truly disheartening and shit-filled day.

I work hard, I give everything I have and then a glorified bureaucrat (whose fucking car allowance comes out of my [and every other teacher in my district] fucking salary, by the way) decides that my Advanced Placement class' grades are too low, because her friend's child is in my class and has a C- [which was a GIFT, by the way, it should have been a D+], then she starts a campaign to fuck me over. Awesome, truly awesome. I came home from work at 4 pm and slept for 3 and a half hours, not a good sign of mental health.

Moving on.

I have to go in for a AP Biology lab tomorrow (apparently, I go in on Saturdays, because I am such a horrible teacher and delight in crushing the spirit of students. Teenage Soul & spirit crushing IS why I took a pay cut to do this fucking, thankless job.)

Gee, I am not bitter at all.

Anyhoo, this is Take 2 for the Bacterial Transformation Lab. Last time the bacteria did not grow and I had to cancel the lab. Keep your fingers crossed. I will look like a serious ass if this lab doesn't happen again.

My run buddy and I are going for a bike ride after the lab. I am supposed to ride for an hour and a half. I am not really looking forward to it. I just want to ball up and hide.

Those diseased vermin gave me a cold!

Damn teenagers! Little germ factories! I keep threatening to install a HazMat decontamination shower over my door. I really need to get on that.

They have no problem cutting my class if they get a hankerin' for french fries in the middle of the day, but when they are sick they always show up and hack and snot all over everything. Then they whine that they can't do any work, because they are sick. If you are sick, STAY HOME! Spare the rest of us your contagious, whiny-ass self, you walking petri dish!

Ahem... sorry. I'm done.

Anyhoo, I have been sick all week and it has been all I can do to keep my head above water with work, my Masters classes (HUGE presentation this week, of course!), teaching at State, blah, blah...

I haven't run since Sunday and I am freaking out. My coach recommended walking today to keep my legs loose. I am feeling a little better, so I will do that.

I do not feel confident about the marathon at all. Not that I am usually a cocky person, but I have trained hard as I could and I thought I would be more confident going into this thing.

I am not.

I think I may throw up.

Hopefully this is normal.

Vacation: Day 2

Today: to be filed under what the hell was I thinking??
Today I baked Christmas cookies. The woman that doesn't cook anything that requires her to do more than "pierce film 2-3 times with fork to vent", baked and decorated Christmas cookies. I have a full blown cookie addiction. I may as well have been cooking up meth in my kitchen. Only a fool would surmise that this would not lead to full blown cookie and cookie dough eating binge, which of course it did. I need this Cookie/Candy holiday to be over before they have to bring the baby whale sling to extract me from my house.

(Reference to the TLC show The 1,000 Pound Man, it was a good show, but so sad)

Exercise
None. My knees were pretty sore and I wanted to sleep in so I did not go to the gym today. Besides, why would I want to go to the gym when I had four pounds of cookie dough to eat?

Monday. Doesn't that really say it all?

WARNING: LOTS OF SWEARING AND DISILLUSIONMENT IN THIS POST

Today: To be filed under "Can someone tell me again, why the fuck do I do this for a living?"
I made good headway on my grading today, but it hasn't brought any relief to the stress. I am 2 Xanax shy of a complete mental breakdown. Between all of the work that needs to be done before the kids leave for break, all the Christmas shit I haven't done, and the impending Hell of my Christmas break job I think I am going to lose it.

To top it off, I have a kid making my life MISERABLE with his drama bullshit, that has now somehow become my problem. Student "X" made up a WHOPPING lie as a excuse to turn his lab report in late. I could care less why it was late, it still loses points for being late. (I will give consideration to certain circumstances, but you know..) Anyhoo, while the student was squeezing out crocodile tears and regaling me with his tale, my bullshit meter screamed passed "Break out your hip boots " and went straight to "Dear God! Get a snorkel!" but, I decided to drop it because it didn't change what was going to happen to his late credit on the lab report and I wasn't going to give him an extension on the second lab report that was due Wednesday. I was hoping I was giving him a way out of this WHOPPING lie so he didn't have to perpetuate it.

Well, then dumbass tried to tell this same WHOPPING lie to another teacher to get out of turning in an essay on time. Only this time he threw me under the bus by saying he told me and I promised to not tell his parents (not true) and gave him an extension (not true). This teacher emails me because she is concerned that Student "X" is not getting help for his MADE UP problem and that he told me about this issue and I said I wouldn't tell his parents. This is PATENTLY not true. I said repeatedly to the child that I cannot and would not promise not tell his parents, so the student never said anything directly he just eluded to the big fat lie that he openly told this other teacher. So of course, upon receiving her email I IMMEDIATELY called the Dean of students and told him of his WHOPPING almost lie to me and his WHOPPING actual lie to another teacher. Then I called the other teacher involved and told her the deal. Now she is pissed as hell that he tried to play her and I am pissed as hell because he tried to throw me under the bus (if I have told them once I have told them a thousand times "if it comes down to me or you staying out of trouble, I will chose 'me' every, single time."), but he is SCREWED because now he openly said this lie instead of big, leading hints. Now the same WHOPPING lie is going to be told to his parents, except now Student "X", in the immortal words of Ricki Ricardo, is "going to have a lot of splainin' to do".

Oh yeah, I do this because I am making a better world and giving back to the community. Right.

Well, at least it is over...

Teaching
Let's talk about all those inspirational movies where a super dedicated, motivated, and super medicated, ummm... I mean 'and super motivational' teacher takes a bunch of underprivileged, under appreciated kids and turns them into chemical engineers over the summer. Telling us all that if we teachers care enough THEY will care enough and rise to the occasion. BULLSHIT!

Case in point: ( I have a MILLION of them. These just happened to occur tonight, hence the rant)

I sat at school tonight waiting for a student to help him with HIS lab report write up and to tutor HIM on the latest chapter. We were supposed to meet at 8 pm after I went to the gym. I wanted to meet at 6:30-7, he couldn't meet until 8, I said fine I had grading to do anyway. I received a text message at 8:20 "sorry i cant make it. we can do it another time." Really? We can? Thanks! That is awfully sweet of you!

Then, while I am at the grocery store at 8:45 tonight to buy supplies for THIS WEEKEND'S lab (yes, weekend, I hold labs on the weekend and everyone raves about how dedicated the kids are. Umm, I had to institute a rule that if you hadn't read and written up the lab procedure you couldn't come to lab because they would all show up having NO idea what to fucking do and then get mad at ME because the lab was taking too long!)

ANYWAY, I get a call from a very sweet student that has been set up by his 'less than sweet' (read: smug asshole) friend to tell me that I needed to check my email because smug asshole has sent me his lab report to proofread. The lab report is due tomorrow morning at 7 am. Gosh! Thanks for all the lead time. I'll get right on it. Especially since you sleep every morning during my lectures. With that kind of appreciation and respect being directed at me, I certainly want to bend over backwards for you. Bend over... that sounds about right!

In case you were wondering, I AM super human

As a result of shit day # 2,471 I proceeded to pick out a nice, fatty piece of German Chocolate cake and a Reese's Big Cup candy bar when I was at the grocery store for the lab supplies. I however, ....

PUT THEM BACK!!

Holy shit! I almost sound like a rational eater, someone that doesn't sabotage their weight loss efforts because the world is not subscribing to the Code of Stacey. Whoa. I need a minute for that to sink in.

Exercise
Treadmill (32 min)

Don't cha?

Thu, 29 Nov 2007 23:18
Don't cha?
Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?! (Sorry, I teach high school and I am probably emotionally only about 15-16 at most anyway!)

Yesterday I wore a skirt I haven't worn since last January. Last January I was at least 20 pounds heavier than I am now and the skirt was, well, if we are being kind we could say it was snug, if we are being honest ,it made me look like 10 pounds of sausage in 5 pounds of casing, as my mother would say.

"Casing", for those of you that weren't raised by hillbillies like I was, is the layer of, usually intestine, that you put the ground sausage in to make links. I know, disgusting. Now you probably will never eat sausage again, so I won't go into what goes into the "ground" part . Ick! anyway if the casing is too small you get a taut, lumpy, about to burst appearance to your links.

You can thank me later for the lovely visual.

Anyhoo, back to my story...

Yesterday I wore said skirt and it actually fit like it was supposed to and, if I say so myself, and since I am the only one typing here I guess I DO say so myself, I looked quite fetching in it. I got several compliments and a few turned heads. Ha! It was kind of nice.

Unfortunately, my pretty skirt and pink sweater did NOT make biology any more interesting to high school sophomores, so that part of my day didn't go any better, BUT the rest of the day was nice! Which leads me to my next category... (like my new segue system!)

Teaching vent

*sigh*

This is going to make me sound old, but we didn't act like this when I was in school. Maybe this was in large part because I was a nerd and nerds are in classes with other needs and we all typically do whatever the teacher tells us.

Why must I TELL students to take out their pencils and paper? Why must I re-tell said students three times to take out their pencils and paper to get approximately 85% of the class to do so? Why must I tell students everyday that, no, I do not loan out pencils or paper (and technically, if they actually do the assignment paper would not be a "loan" anyway) and that they are expected to bring these materials to class everyday? And finally, why do they honestly think that because they came unprepared for class it is an excuse and perfectly ok to sleep/text message their friends/talk to their neighbor/stare blankly at the wall/etc. instead of take notes or do whatever assignment we are all working on?

Some days feel like I show up to work, strap 36 dead birds around my neck and slog through the period (95 minute periods mind you!) until the merciful bell rings and allows me to untie the birds and let them shuffle from the classroom. Then 36 more dead birds show up and the process starts all over again.

Ok, enough of that.

You know you are hungry when...

Tue, 27 Nov 2007 23:54

You know you are hungry when...

you find yourself hunkered over your pet sitting job's kitchen sink fending off cats with your elbow as you eat the tuna that was intended for them. I was so hungry I considered going for the kibble next!

Now, before you are too grossed out, this lady LOVES her cats, apparently more than I love my husband because she buys the all white albacore tuna (Starkist brand no less) packed in water, I buy him whatever is on sale, which is NEVER the all white albacore Starkist tuna. Plus it was a newly opened can, it was not as if they, the cats that is, had actually eaten out of it.

However, I do think it is a little sketchy that I ate their tuna, and they agreed. BUT, I only ate about a 1/4 of the can and I DID give them the rest. So, whatever! Whiner cats!

Exercise

Treadmill: 32 minutes
Walk warm-up 0.25 mile
Run 3 miles (10:40 min/mile pace)

I didn't go to the strength class because I was late getting to the gym and I wanted to run at leas t 3 miles. I am going to a new strength class on Thursday that is 1 hour long, so my total strength training time will even out.

I am a big, fat baby

Thu, 22 Nov 2007 22:12
I am a big, fat baby

but I am going to whine about this anyway.

I got nothin'!

Not one compliment. Not one, "wow, you are looking good." or "you've lost weight." NOTHING!

My family has not seen me since I was down about 12 pounds I am now down 22 (maybe less, it has not been a great food/exercise week.) However, I have lost a considerable amount more AND I have never kept weight I lost off this long before.

Now before you go and give them the "they love you just as you are" benefit of the doubt, these are the same people that gave me a membership to Nutrisystem for my 17th birthday ( I didn't ask for it, they just surprised me! I believe my response was "it is that bad, huh?" I was pretty embarrassed)

WTF??

Also I did not get a single, 'hey, great job on the marathon" or even "how was the marathon?" The only comment about the marathon or triathlon was , "You know you have to be careful with those marathons and triathlons and stuff. Everyone that I know that did those things got real fat after they stopped because they were used to being able to eat all the time."

Nice. Thanks.

Whatever.

I was right vegetables SUCK!

Vegetables

I knew I didn't like the damn things for a reason. Yesterday, I was eating a bowl of salad with cherry tomatoes and when I bit into one it squirted its tomato guts all over my keyboard. Now I have to hit the "d" key really hard to get it to type. You don't realize how many "d's" you use until the damn key doesn't work. (I seriously almost left it they way it was without fixing all the 'd's' but it didn't make any sense.)
Arghhhh!

Knee, the returning saga

I am finally going to the orthopedic doctor tomorrow to find out what I can do about my knee. It has been a month since the marathon and I still can't run. I need some help. I have decided to pay for it myself since my primary care physician's office is incompetent. I do not throw that word around lightly, but they have had a changing of the guard and I can not seem to get anything to work from them, so that is what they are, incompetent. I am worried, but at least I will know something tomorrow

Saturday Food Log and small rant

Sat, 17 Nov 2007 23:31
Saturday Food Log and small rant
Exercise

47 minute Bike ride (moderate to intense effort)

I rode hard the whole way. Ave 14.7 mph pace, which is pretty darn fast for the bike trail since you have to constantly slow down to pass people. This leads me to my next rant...

Bike Trail Etiquette

Dear yoga pant suit wearing, double wide stroller toting, cell phone talker:

If I am passing you on the bike trail and I call out "On your left" this is to notify you that I am coming behind you and am going to pass you on your left, so you may not want to step out onto that side of the trail lest I might strike you or your beloved child.

Please remember that I don't have time to stop and discuss this with you, so the convention is that we have shortened the above statement to "on your left."

So when I say "on your left", I have not screamed "move over asshole I am more important than you", I have not said some disparaging remark about your mother, nor have I commented on the size of your ass, I just wanted to inform you of my presence. So please do not feel the need to make snarky comments about me when I ride by or flip me off, because one day, you self-important rich bitch, I will turn around ,hop off my bike and beat the living crap out of you.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
RBR

Crap-a-palooza 2008

Fri, 09 Nov 2007 23:31
Crap-a-palooza 2008

WI

Honestly, did I think I could eat almost an entire bag of Halloween candy, not exercise a lick, and only gain the measly 0.2 lb that I gained last weigh in? I think I am a little too pragmatic to believe that, but I was still a little shocked to see that I had gained another 2.6 lbs.

I must admit that I was seriously tempted to record 134.2 so that I could hang on to the 20 pound mark (read "seriously tempted" as I did it, then felt bad about being a big, fat liar and went back and edited it)

What stopped me was the thought that I could post that I weigh 125 and my graph would look fantastic, but I would look and feel like a 134.8 pounder. Is this about looking good on the internet or feeling good in real life? I say it is about feeling good in the skin I have whether it be at 150, 135,or 130.

So there it is.

Knee

I went to the massage therapist. This is getting seriously expensive. I am not entirely convinced that the knee feels any better, so I am not going to go next week.

I am going to try to run tomorrow, but I think it will be like last week. At least I will get out there a little. The coach says to keep trying but not to run through the pain. The more inflamed it gets the longer it will take to heal.

I am struggling with my doctor to get a referral to a Sports Medicine Specialist. I have gotten three referrals from my doctor's office. So far I have been referred to a doctor that only sees appointments Monday-Thursday 8am-12pm (nice schedule doc!) , a Gastroenterologist (???) ,and then I was referred to the same M-TH 8-12 guy a second time! Arghhh!

7 Goals in 7 Weeks!

(Finally! As Ms. Shelley has pointed out, I only have 6 weeks to Xmas, so I will make mine until New Years )

1. Exercise 5 days a week. (At least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise 5 times a week and strength training 2 times a week)

2. Drink at least 80 oz. of water a day.

3. Tell my husband that I love him and give him a kiss everyday (Horrifyingly embarrassing that I have to list this as a goal but I get pretty distracted (read: self-involved) with my schedule

4. Play time with the cats every weekend.

5. At least two servings of fresh vegetables per day.

6. NO MORE CANDY!! (It is like crack! A couple of fun size Snickers and I am ready to sell my brother for chocolate)

7. Only one night review for AP Biology per week, so that I am home before 9 pm at least one night per week.

Good end to a Craptastic Day

Fri, 09 Nov 2007 00:44
Good end to a Craptastic Day

My day sucked. That is all I want to say about it, it just sucked. I was not a victim in its craptasticness, I was an active participant, so don't pity me.

Moving on.

I ended my day much better than the first 12 hours.

1. Tonight I went to the gym. I was not drug by wild horses, I went of my own free will. I was uncomfortable, scared and more than a little intimidated, but I manned up and went.

2. At the gym I used the scary elliptical thing-a-ma-job for 35 minutes. I did it all at a level 4. I had to ask the self-involved gym employee to help me with it. That rocked. I guess I should have brought my Double D's with me so I could get a halfway interested attitude from him, but whatever!

3. After my 35 minutes on the elliptical I went to the strength training class that I wussed out of on Tuesday. There were only four students counting me and the lady was really nice. I got my ass handed to me, but it was all in all a good experience.

So the day was... well, it just was, but it ended on a high note.

I ate my JC today with an added (read: extra, not on plan) trip to sushi for a California roll and Tamago.

7 goals in 7 weeks to come. I don't think today is a good day to make a positive goal list.

CAN SOMEONE PULL THIS SNICKERS WRAPPER OFF MY FOREHEAD?

Thank God Halloween is over! I think I am in danger of slipping into a sugar-induced coma. Remember, how I said I needed to get my eating under control? Ummm, that hasn't gone so well. I have stopped the eating out issue, but I don't think eating 12 billion fun sized Snickers really constitutes "under control."

Here is my check in.

Weekly goal progress

1. Drink 80 oz.water per day! Since school started the water consumption is lagging. Too much coffee, not enough water.

DONE! Yay me! (We need to celebrate here, because things are going to get ugly in a second)

2. In bed by 10 pm every night

Not even close. I don't think I was even home by 10 pm this week.

3. Gym on Tuesday morning to try out scary elipitical thing-a-ma-job

Bawk, bawk, bawk! That is my chicken noise. Yep, completely chickened out using the excuse that I was too tired from working long days. Lie. I chickened out.

4. Research the Pilates options

I did this. Probably because it didn't involve actually doing anything. Pilates is expensive! I am going to try a class next week, and we will see how it goes.

Halloween

Fun! I was a penguin for Halloween! The kids loved it. I am such a dork!

WI

I am going to JC tomorrow morning to weigh in. I will report then. I am not expecting anything wonderful.

Knee

I went to the sadist, umm, I mean sports masseuse on Thursday. It hurt like hell! He said he was going to try to really loosen it up. I was hoping by the end of the session it would still be attached.

He told me to try a run this weekend to see how it is doing, so I am going to run on Saturday morning. I will let you know.

That's it for me. I am off to check on you!

Ick!

Sun, 19 Aug 2007 22:26
Ick!

My plumbing woes took a turn for the worse today and I have been feeling pretty bad. No exercise today, but 100% JC, actually a little under cals today because I just don't feel well. I will call the Dr. tomorrow. I HATE going to the doctor for female problems because they (I say "they" because it doesn't seem to matter whether it is a male Dr. or female Dr.) they either treat you like you are a hysterical woman for coming in or like you are incredibly stupid because you let something go on too long before coming in. You can't win!

Anyhoo, hope everyone else's weekend is going well.

It has all just gone to hell!

Sat, 18 Aug 2007 17:56
It has all just gone to hell!

Included below is the irrational rantings of a woman whose plumbing is out of commission for the week. So you may want to take that into consideration before recommending committing her to the asylum.

Argh! The week started off ok, but then went straight to hell. On Saturday, I ran the Dammit Run and then on Monday I completed my long run of 14 miles. I took two rest days on Tues and Wed. On Thursday I was supposed to do a 6 mile Buddy run in the morning, but due to 1. A bladder infection (TMI, I know, sorry) 2. My period starting (also TMI, but I am on a rant here) and 3. Just an all out crappy attitude, I only ran 5 miles and it was a miracle that I even completed that.

Friday is supposed to be my rest day, but I helped my run buddy move and fell for the ol’ “I really don’t have very much stuff” routine. Lord, I am 38 years old, WHEN do you stop falling for that line! Her old apartment is in the third floor with NO elevator. Are you kidding me? It has electricity and actual running water; you would think it was modern enough to have an elevator! So after hauling all of her “not very much stuff” down two flights of stairs we got to move it the to the new place and haul it up one flight of stairs.

Essentially we walked up and down stairs for 8 hours yesterday carrying various pieces of heavy ass furniture and assorted boxes. Then today we were supposed to run 6 miles and we were so sore and tired from moving we ended up walking about a mile and a half and giving up and saying “forget it we are going to go have breakfast.”

I also got the pleasure of going to my JC weigh in on Friday and recording a 0.4 lb increase in my weight (I know it is water weight from the TOM, but still irritating after running 24 miles that week) SO now my already crappy mood has taken a serious downward turn. Now is where I confess my sins, which were many:

1. Lunch Friday: Restaurant: cheese tortellini with tomato cream sauce and enough soft breadsticks to feed a small nation.

2. Breakfast on Saturday: 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns, and English muffin and then…well, ….umm…I had a piece of berry pie * hangs head in shame* Yes, after a full breakfast including hash browns I ate an entire piece of pie in classic Stacey “Screw it! I already messed it up anyway” Style.

Now here I sit feeling awful! My bladder hurts, my body hurts and now I have 12,000 extra calories to work off before I weigh in next Friday.

Totally Crabby Monday

Tue, 31 Jul 2007 00:12
Totally Crabby Monday

Top 10 reasons today totally sucked:

1. I spent the whole d*mn day trapped in a required Health class taught by a megalomaniac that droned on and on for the entire 8 hours about all of the wonderful things she has done for children over her 30 year career...blah, blah, blah!

2. Tried to stab self in eye with pencil to escape megalomaniac diatribe, but it was out of lead. I, unfortunately, survived to hear about her various awards and committee nominations. Note to self: Get lead before tomorrow's class!

3. One of my best friends and run buddies moved to LA today. She was continuously surrounded by her other friends, so I didn't even really get to say goodbye and now she is gone.

4. I am sore and tired from the 12 mile run yesterday. "Oh", you might say, "It is a good sore and tired!" in a chipper, Positive Polly voice. BS, there is no good sore and tired...*grumble*

5. 1200 calories is NOT enough food! I think I am actually starving, it is just my butt that is all distended instead of my abdomen.

6. I did not cross train today because of all of the above. Not one good reason in the bunch, but there it is.

7. I can't think of anymore reasons, so that is a sucky thing too because what good “Top 10” rant list ends at 7?!

Grrrrrrr…
