Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hubby Update
On Friday we went to the urologist to get my husband's bone scan and CT results: They found nothing else wrong! Nada, nunca, zippo!
Yes, this assclown actually tattooed the symbol for "empty set" on the back of his hairy ass neck. Come on! That is fucking hilarious. Did he ask the tattoo guy for the ultimate I-never-want-to-get-laid tattoo? Or maybe "what tattoo says I am completely devoid of value AND a total nerd?"
NEGATIVE BABY!! NO METASTASIS!
We went over treatment options and, after a lot of research and deep family pow wows, have decided on an aggressive treatment course that will hopefully result in a completely cancer free hubby after 6 months.
Because he does have the ability to be a total asshole, he has said that his dying wish is to see me cross the Vineman Full Iron finish line.
Thanks, babe. No pressure at all.
(This is tongue in cheek. He is NOT dying. I have not given my permission for him to leave and he knows better than to defy me. ;) )
Therefore, I must get my growing-ever-more-substantial derriere in gear and get back to training.
I had a minor surgery myself that required me to take 3 weeks off, but the doctor cleared me to start back up on Thursday this week.
I am not sure it is possible for me to get ready in the time left and I know we have some tough stuff ahead of us, but if my baby wants me to train, train I will. Whatever I am ready for and whatever happens on July 31st is fine by me as long as hubby is there with me taking his trademark embarrassing pictures of my suffering.
First up, Marin Marathon April 25th. Better dust off my pink hat!

Oh wow...I'm just so happy for you! Sorry I'm a little late on the uptake! And thanks for helping me put my injury in perspective. Keep being an inspiration :)
I'm so glad he's going to be ok! the big C is not something we like to play around with in the flynn family.
Good to hear no METS! Best of luck with the treatments and the training-you guys are tough! When the tough get going and need some place to vent, whine, cry, or whatever.....you've got all us bloggies in your corner!!!!
PS/For some odd reason, I love the tattoo.
Awesome about the news..Sounds like a strong guy and you will get through this and keep training...Blessings to you both!

Excellent news! Now get the butt in gear! Both of you ROCK! Kick Cancer's Butt and Vineman's!
Just checked in and OMG RBR I am so sorry and stunned! But it is fantastic that it has not spread. I've said this before but let me know if there is anything Izaac and I can do for you. ANYTHING! Hugs to the both of you.
FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!!!!
Yay! That is great to read. Get him in there and make him cancer free ASAP. You will have one hell of an experience when you do this race on July 31st - no matter what! xoxo
This is great news! Good luck with the training. YOu can do it! :)
Great news!!!!!!! Here to hubby being cancer free and to a speedy recovery to you.
Words cannot express how happy I am to read this post. But I will say that empty set tat is the funniest tattoo I've ever seen!!!!!!
Excellent news!! Nothing like training to distract you from the difficulties of everyday life...get moving! :-)
Good news about your hubby--modern day medicine is pretty amazing.
Looks like your hubs has given you a task---I'll be there cheering you on as I try to finish strong in Barb's race.
I am here adding my wishes for a successful treatment and a rapid recovery for Mr. If there is anything I can do, let me know.
sweet! i am so glad the news is as good as it can be :) hopefully the treatment goes well, quickly and smoothly so he is back to his old self again! or maybe a new, improved version, if you so desire a few changes ;)
time to get crackin'. i'm going to dig out my whip now just for you. let us know if you decide to do any sort of fundraising in combo with your iron!
Awesome. I've been checking your blog for an update and praying for this.
I just went through a cancer-y thing with my mom and she is also in great hands with a great prognosis and has a long life ahead of her. This has brought my family very close and we are not taking each other for granted anymore... that's a great silver lining and I can see it'll be your silver lining too. Life is good. Lots of love to you and continued thoughts and prayers for good health!
PS take care of yourself too- recovery from surgery and stress and stuff deserves proper attention! You deserve it. :)
Well thank you Mr. FuckUp Endodontist because Mr. RBR is waaaay too smokin' hot to have to get sick. I've been sending both of you (you and Mr. RBR that is - NOT the endodontist) all the good vibes I could muster (and since I was in Phoenix last weekend I figured they might be getting there faster than usual.) Take care of yourself and your sweet hubs. And best of luck with the training!!!
I am happy for your husband. I wish you both the best of luck during the treatment!
The docs found nothing else wrong - except a lame-o tattoo. Maybe growing a mullet will cover that up.
Marathon in April, huh? Good luck with that.
Rock on, RBR! Great news! :-)
OMG RBR... I am (first) so happy that you have good news about your hubby (of course, I am weeks behind in blog reading, so I had to go back and read your last post, which made me think of how angels work in mysterious ways. Doc's found my mom's lung cancer really super early last year because she had effed up her blood pressure meds and thought she was having a heart attack, so when they did a CT scan, they found no heart trouble, but there is this little spot on your lung you should have checked... anyway, short version of the story is that if she hadn't been such a goof with her meds, the cancer wouldn't have been discovered until it was too late)...
Anyhow, glad for you and for your hubby and that you both have your sense of humor and each other.
Train away babe...five months is plenty of time (says the novice who clearly has no idea what she's talking about...but it sounds good, no?)
