Week 6: Pity Party. Table for 1.

Sunday: Long Ride (40 miles with climbing) characterized by throbbing in jaw and shooting pain to inner ear.

Awesome.

Monday: Emergency oral surgery , which was followed by a truly outstanding performance by yours truly at Parent Night. "I wuth likth to wulcome yuth awl to AP biololly."

Superific.

Tuesday/Thursday: At swim Masters, my lane buddy is leaving the pool as I arrive. The pansy bastard has dropped down to pre-masters and left me to the short lane alone. The real swimmers remain circle swimming 3 to lane, while I loll around in my double wide lane alone, as if slowness was contagious.

Fantabulous.

Friday: Rest day, kind of. Worked 15 hours, my jaw is killing me unless an unearthly amount of Tylenol is taken, and I am scheduled to run 22 hilly miles tomorrow at the Woodside 35K trail run.

Rock on.

*Upside, I did all of my scheduled workouts except the one strength class I knew I would miss for Parent Night at school. I was a cranky bee-otch about most of them. Good thing I train alone.

Sorry, hopefully I will be more chipper after Woodside tomorrow.

Honey I don't know how you do it. If I had oral surgery I would be laid up for at least a couple of days.

I have my own lane at Masters too :-)

Good luck tomorrow!! You are the toughest girl I know so bring it and give what ya got!!!!! Let us know how it goes.

The oral surgery/jaw pain would have laid me up for several days. I know this from experience.

You, on the other hand, are a ROCK STAR for getting it done.

Although I had to giggle thinking of you trying to talk at Parents Night.

Buckle up, Virginia. Everyone gets the BPD sometimes and has to post some negative thoughts. turn that frown upside down, and let that pain morph into anger. you'll swim faster for it.

Holy Hell! You are working out after emergency jaw surgery!?!?! I would be on a percocet/wine diet for at least a week. You are awesome!

If you're having a pity party it would be more than just a table of ONE! You DESERVE to take it easy. I'm so sorry you had to go through surgery. Geez. I sure hope you're feeling better (even when down and pissed off your sense of humor still shines).

Neener neener .. you tried to have a pity party but ended up INSPIRING people instead. So THERE! *ahem* :o)

sorry its been a sucky week. hope it improves soon. Be careful taking all that tylenol. Maybe alternate with Ibuprofin? better for your liver and kidneys to alternate than to just stick to one and you will probably be able to go longer without taking something too. Hope you feel better soon.

For real, just the dental stuff alone is enough to deal with. Add the parents to it...

Way to hang in there! Ironman are made from tough weeks also.

Like I already said... OUCH.

You prove time and time again that nothing takes you down... Rockstar for sure:) Hope the 35k went well.

it definitely says a lot that you were still getting your workouts in after oral surgery! the pain part sucks and i hope you are feeling better. i would have sat my rear on the couch and planted it there for the week, not gone to workout! hope the run went well.

That jaw/tooth pain would probably have made me skip a lot more workouts than you did. Way to get them done and FWIW, I too often have a lane to myself - Booyah!
