Rock. Star. Status.

Rock. Star. Status.

Monday night I went to my first strength class. I sat in the office area waiting for the class to start with the five guys and three skinny bitches (here is where I would do strike though if I knew how, because I know that is wrong to say) err... I mean, other women that were going to be in the class. My heart was in my throat and EVERY fiber of my being wanted to bail.

But I stayed and you know what? I was the only girl that did regular pushups and one of only two in the class (yep, including the guys!) that went all the way, chest to floor for all 10. The instructor even gave me a "Hell yeah!"

I did, however, get my ass handed to me on all the other exercises, but I survived and I will go back on Wednesday.

Wait! There is more!

Today I went to my first Level 2 Masters swim class (I am not good enough to be in Level 1. Seriously, even the pre-masters coach agreed) so they started this intermediate level for the "middle people" like me. Well, I found out today that I am low-middle, since I am the slowest and most inept of the 'middle.'

I did find out that my old Team in Training coach is the Level 2 coach for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. That was WAY cool!

Anyhoo, that is not why I am a rock star. I am a rock star because I went and I did all the drills including speed work.

Speed work!

In the pool!

Me, who HATES swimming.

Like I said...

Rock. Star. Status.

You are a rockstar! Staying when you wanted to bail - sprinting in the pool - you are a rockstar twice over I say!

Oh hell yeah! Sounds like a great strength class. And I didn't know they had different levels of Masters. How naive of me I guess. I hate speedwork in the pool more than almost anything. Good for you for doing it!

I'm starting Masters later this month. The same coaches who formed the Swim Group that helped me so much to prep for Silverman are forming a Masters Program. I can't wait I love them they know how to make me swim better.

LOL @ "skinny bitches." You know if you used Windows Live Writer (free) you could do strike-thru and all kinds of groovy formatting (neener neener).

On the workout: I'M PROUD OF YOU!!!!

I think I already conferred the rock star status upon you when you said you can do 10 pushups . . . the fact that you can best 7 other folks (plus the swim speedwork) has got to push you into mega-star status! Way to go!

So it won't let me do strikethrough for you, but I can tell you how to do it:
Put this before the text:
< p>< del>
Put this after the text:
< /del>< /p>

Next time I see you we can have a push up competition, you will probably kick my ass, ROCKSTAR!

I was going to tell you how to strike through but someone else did...but I think you should leave the post as is.

Way to go on the workouts!

I am a wimp...I should go to my Master's Swim class but it means waking up 5 days a week at 4:30am...not a nice prospect.

You are a rock star! FO SHO! I can attest to that RBR! Great job sticking through that class. I totally need to incorporate some strength training in my routine!

Woo hoo - I'd say you're definitely a rock star!

Speed work in the pool is tough but I think like running speedwork it never really gets easier but you get used to that dying feeling so it doesn't feel as bad. Keep up the good work!
