Anyone catch the number of that bus?

The one that hit me? And squashed me like a toad?

Christ. I made one fleeting appearance, read exactly 0 blogs and fell off the face of the planet again. I still have over 75 unanswered emails in my inbox from the Alaska trip. And the Google Reader? I believe that is a lost cause.

What kind of catastrophic event could cause such a melt down in the highly organized, meticulously efficient RBR lifestyle (stop rolling your eyes! It is rude)?

Seriously, what do you think would happen if I wore this to school? May be worth it.

Yes, dear friends, I am back at school.

I know some of you, *cough Lindsay*, are thinking "Suck it up sister! You just had 2 months off. Jet-setted to exotic locales like Idaho, Sacramento, Windsor, and Alaska. Lolled around on your ever expanding ass and put in some serious miles resting on your laurels. Put on your big girl pants and go back to fucking work!"

*le sigh*

The cherubs are back. And in even better news, with the MASSIVE-bend-over-and-take-it-like-a-good -little-teacher-Fuck-you-Arnold-Schwarzenegger-Terminator-wasn't-even-that-fucking-good California budget cuts, there are, on average, 25% more of them in each class. And I have about $1.12 per student FOR THE YEAR to teach them biology. For the record a frog costs $4.

(side note: I don't do dissection in class, but it is the only biology specific lab reference most people will get. *smiles politely* side note over.)

Superrific!

RBR, so bitter, after only 4 days of school. tsk tsk

Off to read some blogs. 17,569 of them according to my Reader. Christ, people.

First! You don't know who I am - just filling in for Glaven while he's on vacation.

Just to add "another" unread email to your list!
I'd totally wear to that shirt to school-especially on parent/teacher conference night! LOL

Take care- and glad you checked in!

I absolutely LOVE the shirt! I'm a teacher too! California always leads the budget cuts while us in Mass. follow! Hang in there!

Sorry to be a downer but this was the worst race report you have ever written.

I only giggled once which represents a 95% reduction in my enjoyment level of said blog. THEN just as you get my hopes up with the PETA friendly frog image you inform me that you don't even have a frog??

Please don't make me read books again...

Folks like you are the heroes, and you're being treated like outcasts by the state of CA. Very sad.

Thanks for all you do - it's a noble cause, whether it feels like it from day to day or not.

haha, 17,000 posts in reader? I can see the future, and it's "mark all as read"

when are you going to learn that punching just one cherub in the throat will get you an extra $.02 for each of the other students? a nd keep them all in line for the rest of the year.

Totally wear that shirt! If for no other reason than to humor your fellow co-workers.

I hated dissection, also kinda hated biology, sorry! I'm sure if you had been my teacher or my teacher had been remotely interested in teaching us then I might have liked it.

The woes of going back to school, children dislike it and teachers hate it. Sorry that you have to go through it again, if it is any consolation, most Moms are extremely grateful for the time you are putting in to help make the kids passable members of society.

What?! No frogs?! Those kids don't know what they are missing. Ah, the smell of formaldehyde in the morning, gets the blood pumping (the students' that is, not the frog's).

My sis works as a social worker in the Inglewood school district in LA. She can hardly believe she still has a job.

Biology? Are you good at math too?

Lindsay said...

yeah i'd say wear that to open house night (or whatever it's called out there).

why so harsh? yes you need to shut up because you haven't been at work all summer but i might not have said all that... ok maybe i would have.

i have missed the good ol' rbr posts though. i hope you don't let those pesky students take up too much of your time.

Ha, that shirt is a RIOT!! You definitely should wear it to back to school or meet the parents or whatever they call it nowadays.

Oh, and just push All Read in your Reader and Delete All in your email program. The world will keep spinning ;-)

Yeah...I dropped off the face of the earth last week too ((sigh)). I suspect some semblance of a normal routine will emerge for us soon. Hang in there.

Hahahahahha! Nice try, SteveQ, but THIS is how you fill in fo Glaven:

Hey, B*tch! So ... when I talked about skull-f*cking my iPod, it turned you on? Man, you are one sick tranny!

I like that.

It's kinda hawt, in fact.

THAT's how you fill in for Glaven, SteveQ!

Irene said...

So how do you REALLY feel?

GAH.

I was annoyed with the cutbacks when my kids were in grade school and high school. I can't imagine how bad it is now.

PS...
Love that shirt!

looove the shirt :) hang in there lady!! hopefully you find the groove soon :)

School starting has really crimped my lifestyle. Middle-aged guys hanging out at the high school track are frowned upon when the teenagers are around.

The money thing got interesting for me once when I had to tell the local rotary club what their donation of $500 went toward in my teaching college students. 125 frogs would've been more interesting than a replacement centrifuge rotor.

I hear you sister! The cherubs are lucky to have you - even if they are sitting ten to a lab table. Also - I had been feeling quite guilty about not posting since July, but now I'm feeling faintly virtuous not to have contributed to your Google Reader's burden. Sending you some good mojo! :D

I so thought about you last weekend for PacGrove! Can't believe it's been a year - and hope it went well for you. Peace!

dear jeebus woman - I panicked when I couldn't find you.

welcome back, yo.

hehehe, love how you just say things the way they truly are. Hang in there...you will survive another school year. :)

Oh lord girl...it's gotta be bad!

Hope you're hanging in there. It's been a hell of a school year so far!

Great blog, loved your profile--"maybe these are my people," tug at my heart strings! Did Barb's a few years ago--tough course; have respect for you to do the Vineman (maybe some day I will). Alaska is totally beautiful and cool. Thanks for the entertainment!.
