Grrrr...

You know the old adage that a shitty last long run means you will have a good race, if it is true I may fucking well WIN the Triathlon at Pacific Grove next week.

Elevation for today's run:

Fremont Older Run: 10 miles 2:33:08 - List of Shit that sucked ass on today's run:

1. I was in a foul mood from the moment my alarm went off at 5 am (it is 10 trillion degrees these days in California, you have to run early)

2. My legs felt crappy from the first step until the last.

3. 9 billion 327 mountain bikers out on the trails today.

4. I got yelled at by one of the aforementioned Mountain bikers.

Let me recount the story for you:

We are both climbing up a steep as fuck hill in the sun on a single track. I will admit that I do not hear him behind me because I have my iPod on, but I always stay to the right of the trail. And in this case, it was a single track, there was no right of the trail. As soon as the trail widened a little, I moved over and he passed me growling "that is why you turn down your iPod."

Me thinks:
We are both climbing on a single track, multi-use trail. I am NOT expected to dive into the fucking Poison Oak and cling to a cliff edge to let your self important, bitch-ass pass me.

Me says: Fuck you!

Rapier wit and class all in one cute, little, pink package!

5. Some asswipe in a HUGE truck (can we say overcompensation much?) blocked me into my parking space. It took me a full 5 minutes (and two very nice men directing me) to get my car out of the parking lot once this god forsaken run was finally done.

Fremont Older Run - List of Shit that sucked ass LESS on today's run:

1. As usual it was pretty.

2. It is over.

Here is the evidence of the only redeeming quality of today's run

Where is the fucking chocolate cake...

OMG this post is funny -- even though I know this run was anything but.

Good for you for telling that guy to fuck off. He totally deserved it.

What an ass! Fuck him, he wasn't even running up the hill he had a bike. If you didn't knock him off the bike and beat his ass with his tire pump, I'd say you controlled yourself nicely!

That elevation chart is just downright awesome. You actually ran that? Holy shit woman you are my hero. Man invented the airplane because of hills like that!

I'm so excited to hear about Pacific Grove! You are gonna kick ass!

Why are cyclists such assholes?!?!?!?! I think it must be universal.

Anywho, cool pics, and you WILL rock your tri.

Is it bad to be LMAO at your run? So sorry but you're too funny. I have those same conversations with myself on suck-y runs.

That is one steep-ass hill BTW. You're right the weather down here has SUCKED. I'm ready for fall!

What a fantastic crappy last long run you had! Ass wipes, they're everywhere!

Am busy packing to get on the plane to San Jose tomorrow and will probably bring all the clothes I own as I here you say it's hot but then I was freezing in PG a month ago. Wacky CA weather! So excited about this race - and possibly seeing you on the podium. *wink*

God I hope that's true (shitty long last run, etc.) because I know you deserve to kick ass at the tri!!

I was trying to find a cheap flight out there to cheer you on (yes, you know I'm crazy like that) but I am also doing my 18 mile long run on Saturday, so I didn't think I'd be able to pull off both. I'll be cheering you on from here though!

I like how you keep it glass half full. Good = Over. Haha!

We have a lot of biker vs. runner angst on our lakefront path. So, it's good to hear we're not the only ones. Bikers can be so entitled ;).

This is an awesome post!

Sory to hear that your run sucked and then you had to deal with the cyclist too!

But I think that its great that you can keep your sense of humor.

I hear that you are looking at Silverman??

That would be awesome! I can't wait to be passed by you on the Swim/bike/run!

On all our multiuse trails bikers have to yield to everyone else. (And everyone has to yield to horses, which sucks ass.) my opinion, for what it's worth, is that EVERYONE should yield to me. failing that, they should yield to the people who are doing the work of propelling themselves (i.e., not using bicycles or horses to move themselves).

At least the @sshole didn't try to grab your breasts or do something much worse while out there. That sh*t happens way too often back in Orlando and I'm sick of it.

Thanks for the photos. Seriously, I never knew I missed out on so many beautiful places to run while in California!

Ohh - I haven't heard that! Then I'm going to have an AMAZING RACE!! HAHAHA. Sorry about the bad run and the even worse d*ckhead biker (like putting an asterisk in the word dickhead makes it that much nicer). And OMG those hills just look crazy! I would totally die!
