Official hardcore status

I had a two and a half hour ride on my training calendar today and after yesterday's fiasco I was concerned I might die, but I survived and rode 31 miles with hubby. Go me.

It was cold and windy. I don't know what is up with my beautiful California weather.

Well, it was beautiful, just cold and windy.

We Californians are such whiners. When it is sunny and warm I will bitching that it is too hot.

Gear Review:

The BEST lightweight running/cycling jacket EVER! This is seriously the best purchase I have made this season! I love it because it is breathable, feather light, blocks the wind, and of course, its bright PINK!

I would have absolutely died without it on for:
1. Napa Valley Marathon start
2. My freezing, nightmarish bike ride with the mean girls.
3. Yesterday's sub-arctic temperatures and gale force winds at Skyline Ridge.
4. Today's 31 mile bike ride.

I bring it with me for any run or ride, just in case. It does not take up any room, it does not weigh anything, and I LOVE IT.

Were those temperatures REALLY sub-arctic? (smiling from Chicago where we FINALLY have nice weather)

You Californians have good WINE though so all the WHINING is worth it. I'll take all the California WHINE for all the California WINE I can get!

Sorry, had to have some fun with words.

That's the RBR jacket! I'm not sure I would recognize you without it. Gotta love a good piece of running apparel.

Go you! I hate being cold on the bike. That jacket is definitely YOU. Now if only they made pink wetsuits, maybe you'd like the swim better! :D

My hiking/running rain gear is pink too! It is the best! Way to go on your trail run!

Had to come back because I forgot to say the first time how funny the kitty picture was. I will definitely have that image in my head the next time I get cold during a workout!

Good for you getting out there!!

You know, the only thing worse than a Californian complaining about their weather is a Floridian doing so. I swear my comfort zone is now a measly 10 degrees. I think I get the weather I want maybe 2 days a year ...

I didn't know you had a California Desert Tortoise!! So do I!! How old is yours? Mine will be 3 in August. Keeps trying to hibernate and I won't let her/him! LOL

How are things with you? Must be busy! Take care and talk to you soon!
