A little late on the October totals

I am probably late posting the October training totals because they are so pathetic.

Here goes nothing (well, not nothing, but damn close)

October 2008

Running (let's start with the good news) 79.5 miles
Biking 32.0 miles
Swimming 0.0 yards

Ummm, yeah. That biking total is not for my last single ride it is for the whole flipping month. Two whole rides for a grand total of 32 miles. And swimming? Not one yard since The Triathlon a Pacific Grove.

For a little comparison let's look at the training totals the month before school started.

August 2008 totals:

Running 100.3 miles
Biking 230.0 miles
Swimming 10,012 yards

I am trying not to turn this into a "Holy shit! I can't do an Ironman. What the fuck was I thinking?" post. So I will leave it with, I am vowing to get my training shit together. Work is crazy, but that is status quo. I have to figure out how to deal with it. I did my entire training plan (sans the swimming, of course) this week and I plan to resume my pre-masters swim classes after the State semester is over (Dec 15).

Also to make myself feel a little better I will post my "2008 so far" totals which greatly exceed my wildest dreams when 2008 started.

Totals for 2008 to date

Running 715.8 miles
Biking 1,168.7 miles
Swimming 52,150 yards

I can do this and I will do this.

On to better news:

A big shout out to two people that have been training hard and are about the rock the hell out of Silverman 1/2 Iron distance Triathlon tomorrow:

Good luck Stef and Izzac (Formulaic)! Go Rock that bitch!

You're right, you WILL do it!

P.S. You could add to your run mileage if you would take a certain someone with you on a trail run!

I still think you're doing great though:)

Of course you can do it! Circle the wagons, get your poop in a group, and (as the goddess of victory, nike, says) just do it!! What are you goal numbers for November and December? I bet November is already more on track than October ended up being. Looks like you needed a bit of downtime to balance your work life and training routines - so you took it. Yay!

Are you still running the Big Sur half today???? I so have wanted to runt hat race! As for Solvang next week. I'm going to try because I SO want to finally meet you! There area a few obstacles: an 8 mile race in Long Beach at 4pm on saturday, and my boy Winton.....I'm not sure how much longer he'll be with us. And I don't know when I should say goodbye! He's just not himself-he's not the same cat! But he is still eating(I have to put him in front of the food to eat but still eating and that has always been the marker!) I guess I just don't want to give up on him but I know renal failure is a futile battle!!

I'm going to check the Big Sur website...see if I can track you....I wonder how the weather is because it's windy as crap here!!!

RUN BITCH RUN!!! and you will Bike Bitch Bike next saturday!!!

I like the 2008 to date totals idea. I may need to do that to get my mind off my pathetic numbers while nursing my stupid knee.

You are correct when you say "I can do this and I will do this"

Now go out and make it happen :-)
