Thanks for all of the pics and useful info about this hike. Good for you for getting that pic of you and your dad on that "diving board" despite your fear of heights...you will treasure it. My hubby hates heights, too, but I hope I can get him to do the same thing. My Avatar is of me on the edge of a cliff over the Colorado River in the Grand canyon, and I have about 50 other locations of edge sitting/standing/jumping pics, so I HAVE to get one there! Which, seriously, would be over if I ever managed to snap a pair of size 6 jeans (skinny or now) around my waist/hips. My body would be cut in half.

The pictures are great, and the picture of the climb made me want to throw up. I'm so impressed with you standing out on that ledge with your dad. My husband and I went hiking in the Smokies about 10 years ago, and hiked up to the Chimneys. I'm sure it's nowhere near as high as Half Dome, but there was no picture of us standing together at the top because I refused to actually STAND there. A fall would have easily led to serious injury or death and I wasn't giving gravity any extra chances at me. Meanwhile, all these 9-year old looking kids were scampering about like mountain goats. Their parents must not have liked them much.Kate Geisenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11854561265520868538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643429007621218084.post-46058299508286426422010-08-07T09:20:49.302-07:002010-08-07T09:20:49.302-07:00Congratulations to both of you!
